A wet + Windy Week Exploring the scenic Archipelago


The Faroe Islands offer a kind of bucolic Nordic beauty that is truly unparalleled. On a string of islands in the North Atlantic where sheep outnumber the people and the weather can change dramatically in a matter of minutes, the Faroes are a haven for hikers, landscape photographers and fishermen -- salmon is a massive industry here and there is no shortage of coastline. Although we had wet and sometimes incredibly windy conditions throughout the week, the tempermental weather made for some dramatic scenes (and gave me a whole new appreciation for my rain gear).
