Photo Tour with Mark Andreas Jones | February 2024
Waterfalls, majestic mountain ranges, ice caves, glaciers, and black sand beaches... I quickly ran out of adjectives to describe the dramatic and extraordinary landscapes Iceland offers.
We started at the Golden Circle, then went on to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, taking in its breathtaking coastlines, including natural arches and black basalt cliffs. From there, we headed east to Höfn to see Vestrahorn, Diamond Beach, Eystrahorn, and Vatnajökull National Park. Vestrahorn was a gift that kept on giving - we wound up going back 4 times to capture its beauty.
From there, we meandered to the Southwest, capturing Black Sand Beach and some of Iceland's most iconic waterfalls, including Skogafoss and my personal favorite, Kvernufoss. The aurora eluded us until our final weekend, when we had a chance to witness it above lovely Brúarfoss.
Simply unforgettable.
